Apakah OpenBravo itu?

Beberapa hari yang lalu  saat saya kebingungan dengan tema PI saya, seorang teman yang kebetulan dibawah Dosen Pembimbing (DP) yang sama memberi ide untuk “mengotak-atik” software open source bernama COMPIERE. Setelah itu saya mulai mencarai melalui Google dan menemukan COMPIERE. Ternyata COMPIERE adalah sebuah aplikasi untuk membantu sistem manajemen dan membantu mengelola kinerja usaha. Setelah saya kunjungi website resminya saya melihat ternyata versi opensourcenya tidak sepenuhnya terbuka! Ternyata COMPIERE menyediakan juga versi berbayarnya. Ketertarikan saya akhirnya berkurang, namun kemudian saya melihat software bernama OpenBravo di sebuah website software bernama SOURCEFORGE[dot]net. Ternyata OpenBravo merupakan software opensource turunan COMPIERE dan full web based! Setelah saya mencari-cari mengenai OpenBravo ini,akhirnya saya menemukan penjelasan mengenai OpenBravo. Di bawah ini adalah penjelasan mengenai OpenBravo yang saya ambil dari website http://online.vinnan.com.
Openbravo , telah dirancang secara khusus untuk membantu mengelola dan meningkatkan kinerja usaha. Dengan fungsi dan fitur yang mencakup seluruh area dari suatu sistem manajemen, dengan titik berat pada solusi akuntansi yang terintegrasi dengan fungsi-fungsi manajerial lainnya, seperti pengelolaan produksi, persediaan, pengadaan, penjualan bahkan juga tersedia fitur CRM (Customer Relationship Management), BI (Business Intelligence), dan POS (Point of Sale) untuk melengkapi.
Openbravo, merupakan salah satu turunan Compiere yang cukup terkenal, dikembangkan dengan nama awal Tecnicia pada tahun 2001, dan pada tahun 2006 mulai menggunakan nama Openbravo sebagai identitas baru. Berbeda dengan Compiere, OpenBravo menggunakan User Interface berbasis Web, sehingga bagi anda yang menghendaki menggunakan aplikasi sekelas Compiere yang Full Web Base, OpenBravo layak untuk dipertimbangkan.

Master Data Management
